Caryn Elaine Johnson also known professionally as Whoopi Goldberg is the first African American woman to win the Emmy awards, Grammy award, Oscar award, and Tony award. 

Whoopi Goldberg was born on the 13th of November, 1955 and began her acting career in 1982.

RnB Singer, John Legend follows after her as the first black man to win the award on the same platforms.

Unlike many of other African American actresses, Goldberg have featured in Blockbuster movies such as Lion King, Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles, Star Trek.
