The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has signed a peace accord drafted by the National Peace Committee (NPC).

The Sun reports that Atiku signed the document on Wednesday, December 12, in the presence of members of the peace committee headed by a former head of state, Abdulsalami Abubakar, in Abuja.

The national chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus and other party members, reportedly accompanied Atiku the Kukah Centre, Abuja, where the document was signed.

There had been concerns after Atiku did not show up at a meeting on Tuesday, December 11, where other presidential candidates of political parties, including President Muhammadu Buhari signed the document.

Atiku and other presidential candidates such as Omoyele Sowore of the AAC, and Oby Ezekwesili of ACPN had all said they were not invited.
