Pep Guardiola’s injury problems have deepened after Oleksandr Zinchenko was ruled out for up to six weeks with a knee injury. Zinchenko has had surgery in Barcelona to clean out his knee and Guardiola says the Ukrainian will be out until the start of December.

Guardiola also revealed that Rodri will be out until after the international break with the hamstring injury he suffered against Atalanta on Tuesday.

The pair will miss the huge clash with Liverpool in just over two weeks’ time in addition to long-term casualty Aymeric Laporte. On Zinchenko,

Guardiola said:  “He has had contact with his knee and felt something on the bone “It’s not a big issue, but he’ll be out for five to six weeks.”
Rodri will be out for at least four weeks and Guardiola said: “They tell me it will be until after the international break that he will be ready again.”
Guardiola will face his former midfielder Douglas Luiz tomorrow when Aston Villa visit the Etihad and he says he might have been lining up for them if he had been granted a work permit.
